To the Navajo tribe the color turquoise represents happiness luck and health. Turquoise is also the most common component of Native American Jewelry.
The Navajo believed Turquoise stones possessed natural powers and believed the stone's inclination towards divinity stemmed from its wide spectrum of coloration. Click on any photo to see a close up of it.
The final piece is etched and painted into wood with hand made frame also made of wood. With both the painting and the frame the artist saves all the natural holes and scratches of the wood.
