This etching comes from an original photo, shot by the artist at the FDR Pow Wow in New York in the summer of 2013. A young jingle dress dancer shields herself against the sun using her beautiful flat fan. A lingering moment of beauty captured by the artist and made as inspiration for the painting.

The final piece is etched and painted into wood with hand made frame also made of wood. With both the painting and the frame the artist saves all the natural holes and scratches of the wood. Pyrographic etching in plywood. Painted with water color, guache and improvisational use of color.
